Discover Manchester’s best comedy nights

Comedy manc hero

So, let’s be honest, it feels like it's been raining since 2008 and although the nights are getting lighter, the beer garden days are still a while a way. We could all enjoy a laugh, and Manchester has a great selection of homegrown talent and epic comedy nights to enjoy a laugh with your mates. Take a look at our favourites below.

Frog & Bucket

One of the first places to open up in the now uber-trendy Northern Quarter the Frog and Buckets plays host to Manchester's longest-running comedy club. Not only some fantastic homegrown talent, but comedy greats also pass through from all over the world. There are two opportunities every week to enjoy a giggle, their 'Barrel of Laughs' night and also their open mic night 'Beat the Frog'. Thoroughly enjoyable evening out watching the future greats for a price of a pint!

The Comedy Store

The one you think of when someone says comedy in Manchester. Located on Deansgate Locks, this perfectly placed club offers some of the best stand up in town. Their auditorium set up makes it perfect for stand up. We thoroughly recommend heading down on a Friday or Saturday night to watch the 'Best in Stand Up' where you can watch a mix of emerging talent with some of the biggest names in comedy. Our top tip – don’t sit in the front row, unless you can handle having the mickey taken out of you!

The Bierkeller

We're throwing a spanner in the works with this one. This Bavarian beerhouse located in the printworks plays host to the legend Jason Manford's comedy nights as well as some open mic comedy nights. And a stein of beer makes pretty much anyone funny, plus the added bonus of enjoying a bratwurst during the show helps!
