Discover Manchester's best work spaces

Hero co working

The age of the remote worker is officially here, with a massive increase in self-employed Mancunians and people favouring flexibility over the usual 9 - 5. Take a look at some of our favourite shared office spaces and worker-friendly cafés in the city centre!

Foundation Coffee

Located in the heart of Manchester’s northern quarter, Foundation coffee is a great cafe to work from. There is ample space, multiple plug points plus and an amazing breakfast and lunch menu to keep your brain power high. If you are solo working, take a pew on one of the high seats at the window, and watch the world go by while you are typing away. Foundation also have super-fast Wi-Fi and even a meeting room which you can hire out for the hour making it the perfect temporary office.

Culture Plex

When you walk into CULTUREPLEX you may feel like you have stepped into the lobby of a hip New York hotel. The new complex located in Ducie Street Warehouse is one of the coolest new additions to Piccadilly. The lounge has sprawling shared tables with plugs and cool art deco lamps, around the outside are large leather-clad booths if you need more space. It’s a cool vibe but informal, and they welcome workers to bring their laptops, spend the day, and enjoy Cultureplex food and drink offerings.

This independent coffee house located on Tariff Street is the perfect place to fly through your morning emails. The minimalist art deco space is a design dream, and the owners made the space to welcome people who are working, whether on their own or holding meetings. They want Takk to be ‘A space to dream up some big ideas’. Not only is Takk a great place to work, they also have some of the best coffee in the city to keep you going past the 4 pm lull.

Ezra and Gil

Located on the corner of Hilton Street and Newton street in the super trendy Northern Quarter Ezra and Gils chilled vibe and background music make it a great place to get focused. And if your motivation starts to dwindle try one of their excellent fair trade coffee to perk you up or a tasty breakfast or lunch. Try not to get side-tracked by their delicious cakes and pastries though!
