Lockdown has been a game-changer for lots of small businesses. Many had to close their doors, and some have had to turn to new business models altogether. The innovation shown by Manchester’s small businesses has been inspiring. With the momentous news that hospitality is due to open up from the 4th July, we have rounded up some of our amazing neighbours who are finding ways to open again.
Ezra and Gil
The neighbourhood coffee shop that everyone has been yearning for this lockdown. With their enviable brunches usually curing the cities Friday night hangovers, the team have opened up their doors for take away - and they are offering up a whole lot more than just your morning caffeine fix.
You can choose from the entire menu: beautiful brunches, lunch boxes, pastries, juices, cupcakes, homemade granola, desserts - the list is endless. Their Instagram is a good place to start to pick your favourite dish to order!
Ezra and Gil are open from 8 am – 4 pm daily.
Northern Flower, located just a seven-minute walk from Manhattan’s front door, is easily recognisable for the plethora of flowers and pots that tumble onto the street in front of it. The shop is a mix of unusual plants in quirky containers; the best quality cut flowers and selection of gifts.
They are abiding by social distancing and only letting two people in at a time, and they are still doing deliveries as well if you would rather order online or send a gift!
Northern Flower are open 10 am – 4 pm every day, including Sundays.
From Lifestyle Store
Another batch of great news comes from the independently run From Lifestyle Store which is re-opening their doors this Friday. The beautiful Scandi inspired interior sits beneath a breathtaking atrium glass ceiling where the light floods in like a greenhouse. They sell hand-chosen pieces from high-quality designers from candles to jewellery to hand made soap.
To ensure that people feel completely comfortable and calm while shopping, they are only letting one household in at a time - a true testament to their overall philosophy. They will increase their opening times and days in the following weeks.
Keep an eye on their Instagram for updates.
The one I think the whole of Manchester has been waiting for: the Albert Schloss reawakening. Although they are not open quite yet, they have started taking provisional bookings at Cook Haus and Bier Palace from the 4th of July. Bookings are flying so get in their quick to reserve your place and WILLKOMMEN them back.
