Manchester's restaurants may have had to close their doors temporarily, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy some of your favourite flavours. If you have had enough of your homemade tuna pasta bake, and you have had too many dominos pizzas delivered, then take a look at a new trend to hit the city.
Restaurants are adapting to provide home delivery service, and one in particular is trying something new altogether—introducing WOOD.
WOOD is one of the most prestigiously acclaimed restaurants in the city, run by 2015 Masterchef champion Simon Wood. The team at WOOD have reinvented the standard restaurant delivery service and stepped it up a level by creating the bases of the dishes at the restaurant and providing instructions and ingredients for people to finish them off at home.
This gives you not only delicious food, but also a fun activity to do at home – something we all need at the moment.
Set the table, put your favourite playlist on, and be transported inside the WOOD restaurant. Head chef and owner Simon has been looking through the tagged social media posts of everyone recreating his dishes at home, and is inviting the best to join him at the restaurant for a free slap-up dinner later this year.
There are loads of the restaurant’s best dishes which you can order for delivery. Simon's famous 82°C belly pork starter if on offer as well as Cheshire Beef Ribye and his award-winning lemon posset. You can add sides, wine and Simon's very own WOODkraft beer as well.
Delivery is available on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and can be pre-ordered now for next weekend – but be warned that there is a limited number available, and they sell out fast! The cost is £25 per person for a restaurant-sized three-course dinner; if you want an epic feast, then you can add as many sides as you wish at an additional cost.
A fantastic way to not only have a delicious fine dining meal at home but to get involved in really bringing it to life! Head over to their website now to get your order in.
