The best spots in the city for a Thursday night

Hero thursday new friday

It's safe to say that Thursday is now the official start to the weekend. As5 pm hits the streets start to fill, the music gets louder, and the bottles start to pop. Of course, you need to accept the fact you may need to nurse a sore head the next day but who cares when you're having this much fun? Take a look at some of Manchester's best haunts to celebrate the start of the weekend.

Manchester's best new music venue YES is a place where no two Thursday nights are ever the same. The restored auction house has ample gig space in the basement and a wonderful selection of artists through their doors each week. From Punk to house to the northern soul, there really is something for everyone. Take a look at their event listings to see what Thursday night offerings they have.

Alberts Schloss

Alberts Schloss, Manchester’s first Tankovna. This Bavarian-inspired bar is jammed packed with entertainment every night of the week. Live music from the Alberts Haus, (their resident band) always gets people up dancing, followed up with their epic resident DJ, and of course the added Schloss shenanigans-including dancers and theatre acts. This is the place to go if you want frivolous fun!

Revolucion de Cuba

Revs de Cuba, the ultimate party destination located on Peter Street smack bang in Manchester city centre. Thursday nights are even better than Friday with less of a crowd and no queuing out the door given you have more time to drink and dance. Starting with Happy hour from 3pm – 7pm followed by salsa sessions, before a live DJ add in lots of Rum and it makes for a night not to forget.

The Liars club

The Liars Club, every Manchurian would have been here at some point, it's the best place in Manchester to start your weekend. Why you ask is it so good? Think flaming cocktails, staff so happy you think they were just other club revellers and tunes that make you feel like you have been transported to Rio. Careful on the rum cocktails if you still have to head in the office early on Friday morning. A warning but not an order!

Thursday nights are getting more popular in the city and Mojos is one of the places known for having a Friday feeling every day of the week. Beware you will probably have the hangover from hell in the office the next day, but it's well worth it from dancing on the tables and enjoying the fiery cocktails that Mojo serves up.

Anyone who is anyone has graced the beautiful terrace at 20 stories will tell you it is a must any day of the week and with good reason, the incredible views, delectable cocktails and the guarantee of a good night make it a popular choice. Thursdays, in particular, are some of the best with live music sessions and special cocktails on offer!
